1. 포집 구역(위):
* 태양관의 외부 부분으로, 일반적으로 지붕에 설치됩니다.
* 낮 동안 다양한 각도에서 햇빛을 포집하도록 설계된 돔 또는 렌즈로 구성됩니다.
* 이 다이어그램은 지붕 구조(빨간색 타일과 파란색 하부 구조)와 통합된 모습을 보여줍니다.
* 이 구역에는 태양이 비추고 있으며, 이는 태양 광선을 모으는 기능을 나타냅니다.
* 지붕에서 건물 내부로 이어지는 길고 반사되는 튜브입니다.
* 튜브의 내부 표면은 반사율이 높아(종종 거울과 같은 재질로 코팅되어 있음) 수집된 햇빛을 최소한의 빛 손실로 생활 공간으로 효율적으로 전달합니다.
* 튜브 내부의 물결 모양 선은 아래로 반사되는 빛의 경로를 나타냅니다.
* 그림은 이 영역이 다락방이나 천장 공간을 통과하는 모습을 보여줍니다.
3. 전달 영역(하단):
* 이는 솔라 튜브의 내부 부분으로, 일반적으로 아래층 방의 천장과 같은 높이에 있습니다.
* 집중된 햇빛을 실내에 고르게 분산시키는 디퓨저 또는 렌즈가 포함되어 있어 기존 조명 기구의 효과를 모방합니다.
* 그림은 이 영역에서 발산되는 광선이 아래층 방을 비추는 모습을 보여줍니다.

This image explains the concept and components of a solar tube, also known as a sun tunnel or tubular daylighting device (TDD). It illustrates how natural sunlight is captured, transferred, and delivered into the interior spaces of a building.
Solar Tube Explained
The main image on the left shows a cross-section of a building utilizing solar tubes to bring natural light into multiple floors, even into interior rooms that don't have direct access to windows.
The enlarged diagram on the right breaks down the solar tube into its three primary zones:
1. Capture Zone (Top):
* This is the exterior part of the solar tube, typically mounted on the roof.
* It consists of a dome or lens designed to capture sunlight from various angles throughout the day.
* The diagram shows it integrated with the roof structure (red tiles and blue underlayment).
* The sun is depicted shining on this zone, indicating its function to collect solar rays.
2. Transfer Zone (Middle):
* This is the long, reflective tube that extends from the roof into the building's interior.
* The tube's interior surface is highly reflective (often coated with a mirror-like material), allowing it to efficiently transfer the captured sunlight down to the living spaces with minimal light loss.
* The wavy lines inside the tube suggest the path of light as it bounces down.
* The diagram shows this zone passing through the attic or ceiling space.
3. Delivery Zone (Bottom):
* This is the interior part of the solar tube, typically flush with the ceiling of the room below.
* It includes a diffuser or lens that spreads the concentrated sunlight evenly into the room, mimicking the effect of a traditional light fixture.
* The diagram shows light rays emanating from this zone, illuminating the room below.
Benefits of Solar Tubes
The image effectively conveys the primary benefit of solar tubes: providing natural daylight to interior spaces that would otherwise require artificial lighting. This can lead to:
* Energy Savings: Reduced reliance on electric lights during the day.
* Improved Well-being: Access to natural light is known to positively impact mood, productivity, and circadian rhythms.
* Reduced Heat Gain (compared to skylights): While traditional skylights can bring in a lot of heat, solar tubes typically have a smaller opening and are designed to minimize heat transfer.
* Versatility: Can be installed in various roof types and bring light to areas without direct roof access, thanks to flexible or angled tubes.
In summary, the image provides a clear and concise explanation of how solar tubes work to harness sunlight for interior illumination, highlighting their three main functional zones.
