Characteristics 1) Conventional technique includes a single reaction step. but the anaerobic digestion reaction of the present equipment has two-step reaction of acid fermentation and methane fermentation. which are treated in first and second digesters that are operated at different optimal reaction conditions. The acid fermentation reaction is carried out at low pH conditions. and to the contrary. the methane fermentation reaction is very sensitive to high pH conditions. Therefore. the two reaction tanks are separated. thereby accomplishing a high reaction efficiency. 2) A reaction temperature is set at an intermediate temperature (37 °C) in conventional practices. but in the present technique it is set at a high temperature (57 °C). The pathogenic bacteria and the seeds of weeds in the residual substances in the digester are completely removed. such that they can be safely utilized as compost. 3) Since the anaerobic digestion water contains high concentration of T-N. it cannot be treated with any other technique. Thus. it has not been used in the treatment of livestock wastewater. The present company has developed a new technique (being issued with Patent No. 326677).
